Beach Clean-up

I went to the Bayside Anglers Waterfront Day 17th Annual Little Neck Bay Shoreline Clean-up yesterday, where I picked up a million plastic bottle caps and photographed some fishermen and girl scouts.

    Dear Alice,
As a beginning photographer – or rather a person who takes photos for fun – I am inspired by your art here.
    Just wanted you to know.

Thank you! You have some lovely pictures too – I like the reflection at the coffee shop.

Oh I’m so proud of the layers in that shot. Thanks for noticing!

Alice would you write sometime, maybe about what it’s like to be a professional photographer who does NOT do weddings/portraits/etc.

As I’m trying to imagine what role photography might take in my life (organizing my first show this month) I’ve been looking to see what kind of jobs exist. I’ve been so curious about what it’s like to do what you do – you get to photograph such INTERESTING things.

I grew up in Ghana, and I’m going back there this summer so I’m SO captivated by your ahhhhhmazing shots of Lagos. I’m dreaming about what I might focus on while I’m there.
