J., 22, celebrates receiving a grant she wrote to make a garden including medicinal plants used by her relatives in Puebla, Mexico:
"A garden is a sacred space. The healthcare system, pharmacists at this time are like the police and my garden is something like resistance and a safety place. By gardening you are bringing up all the things that my ancestors farmed and a way to see things grow and I feel like people who learn and change, that’s a way of resistance."
